Zoopark Brno

The ZOO stretches across 65 hectares in the city part Brno- Bystrc, near Brno reservoir. There are animals from all continents of the world except the Antarctic. Among the most attractive species kept here are tigers, leopards, Canadian wolves, polar bears, kangaroos, suricates and a rare kind of horses Equus przewalskii. The visitors are also invited to see the animals in the new expositions: Tiger rocks, Tropical kingdom or Children ZOO. Especially in summer, the ZOO holds a range of events both for children and adults.

Western Park – Šiklův mlýn

In a valley of the small river Bobrůvka in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, you will find a little Western-style town recalling the America of the late 1800s. The place boasts an almost 100 year old tradition of camping. Today, there is a large entertainment park with cowboys and Indians, a saloon and a genuine railway station with a Union Pacific train. The grounds also comprise a small church with a cemetery, a Sheriff's Office, a jail, a town bath and gambling rooms, all modelled on authentic examples. Covering an area of more than 50 hectares, the little town provides an opportunity to explore the life as it was in the Wild West at the time when the area was being settled: you can see cowboys, gold-diggers, gunmen, women dancers and saddlers. At the same time, you can become acquainted with the lifestyles and customs of the original inhabitants of America - the Indians. The many local attractions also include a rodeo, displays of Western-style horse riding, whip and lasso displays and productions depicting assaults on the town and other stories. The grounds also have a small zoological garden housing animals such as raccoons, buffalos and porcupines.

Western Park – Boskovice

Vranov by Brno - Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Kostel Narození Panny Marie) - Early baroque cathedral. The Vranovsky nativity scene with mechanical power and a musical automat are found in the cathedral. The Liechtenstein crypt was completed by the emperor’s tomb in 1820.

Water Mill in Slup

The object is situated on Mlýnská strouha (drain), which is an interesting technical water monument itself. A 29 km long artificial channel was being built little by little since the beginning of the 14th. century. Former Renaissance mill with four functional water wheels belonging to the biggest mills in Moravia. In the inhabitable part you can find an exhibition of miller´s trade and of the milling techniques development from the primeval ages till the present, in the grinding plant you can see a sample functioning and watch the entire process of corn milling.

Vienna

Vienna is the capital of the Republic of Austria and one of the nine states of Austria. Vienna is Austria's primary city, with a population of about 1.7 million, and is by far the largest city in Austria, as well as its cultural, economic, and political centre. It is the 10th largest city by population in the European Union. Vienna is host to many major international organizations such as the United Nations and OPEC.
 
Vienna lies in the east of Austria and is close to Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary. These regions work together in a European Centrope border region. With the close by Bratislava, Vienna forms a 3 million inhabitants metropolitan region, referred to as Twin City. In 2001, the city centre was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site and in 2005 an Economist Intelligence Unit study of 127 world cities ranked it tied with Vancouver for first for the quality of life.
 
A variety of architectural styles can be found in Vienna, such as the Romanesque Ruprechtskirche and the Baroque Karlskirche. Styles range from classicist buildings to modern architecture. Art Nouveau left many architectural traces in Vienna. The Secession, Karlsplatz Stadtbahn Station, and the Kirche am Steinhof by Otto Wagner rank among the best known examples of Art Nouveau in the world.

Špilberk Castle

Royal castle built in the 13th century that was converted during the 17th and 18th century to a Baroque fortress is known as the “jail of nations” for its reputation of the most feared prison in Habsburg monarchy. It is a seat of the Brno Museum, which offers permanent exhibitions concerned with the history of the castle and the city. The visitors are also allowed to take a walk through the casemates - dark grim rooms in the fortifi - cations that used to serve as a recess for the soldiers and later as prison cells for criminals guilty of felony. The castle is surrounded by a spacious park with a number of memorials where the visitors can enjoy a magnificent view of the city.

Slavkov by Brno - Austerlitz

Slavkov u Brna is a country town east of Brno in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. Population: 5,900. The town is widely known for giving its name to the Battle of Austerlitz which actually took place some kilometers to the west of the town.
Baroque Slavkov Castle (Austerlitz) has 115 rooms and an impressive garden in the French style. The Palace was designed by Italian architect Domenico Martinelli. In its historic salon, an armistice was signed between Austria and France after the battle of Austerlitz on 2 December, 1805. There is a small historic museum and a multimedia presentation about the battle.
The Peace Memorial (mohyla míru) on Prace hill. The memorial near Prace village has been designed and built by Josef Fanta during 1910–1912. The First World War postponed its inauguration until 1923. It is 26 m high, square, with four female statues symbolizing France, Austria, Russia and Moravia. Within is a chapel with an ossuary. A small museum commemorates the battle.

Protected Landscape Area - Moravian Karst (Moravský kras)

Moravian Karst is one of the most important karst area of Central Europe. In the area of Moravian Karst, there are more than 1100 caverns and gorges. But only 4 caves of the all number are open to public. There are Punkvevní jeskyně (Punkva Caves) with their underground river – during the cruise you can see there the bottom of the famous Macocha Abyss. Another cave is Kateřinská jeskyně (Catherine’s Cave) with its unique limestone columns. The Balcarka Cave is full of colorful stalactitic decoration. Sloupsko-šošůvské jeskyně (Sloup-Šošůvka Caves) are made by huge corridors and underground gorges.
Remarkable valleys called Pustý žleb (Desert Valley) and Suchý žleb (Dry Valley) are very typical for Moravian Karst; there is also stream called Bílá voda (White Water) coming into the caves and Amatérská jeskyně (Amateur Cave, 34 km long) which is not open to public. Very remarkable for all visitors is view to Macocha Abyss from two platforms – the Upper and Lower foot bridge. In the central part of Moravian Karst, Rudické propadání (Rudice Sink) is the main place to visit, where river called Jedovnický potok suddenly disappears into the caves and comes out in Býčí skála (Bull Rock Cave) close to village Josefov after its 12 km long mysterious journey.

Lednice Castle

Lednice is a village in South Moravia in the Czech Republic. In 1996 it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List (together with the twin manor of Valtice/Feldsberg) as "an exceptional example of the designed landscape that evolved in the Enlightenment and afterwards under the care of a single family." It contains a palace and the largest park in the country, which covers 200 km².
The surrounding park is laid out in an English garden style and contains a range of Romantic follies by Joseph Hardtmuth, including the artificial ruins of a medieval castle on the bank of the Thaya/Dyje River (1801) and a solitary sixty-metre minaret, reputedly the tallest outside the Muslim world at the time of its construction (1797–1804).

Veveří Castle

This Brno castle soars above the Brno reservoir surrounded by the beautiful nature of the Podkomorské woods. It is a gothic royal castle which was also used as a hunting lodge. The castle was held in possession of various noblemen and its history is interwoven with a number of myths and legends. Today it is a venue of various cultural and social events. At the foot of the castle there is one of the steamboat stops.

Bouzov Castle

Bouzov Castle is an early 14th-century fortress first mentioned in 1317. It was built on a hill between the village of Hvozdek and the town of Bouzov, 21 km west of Litovel and 28 km northwest of Olomouc, in Moravia. The castle has been used in a number of film productions lately, including Arabela, Fantaghirò, and Before the Fall.
 
At present the castle is fully furnished and equipped. The most valuable part of it is the neo-gothic chapel with its Gothic altar and tombs; also the castle armoury, which is in one of the few original rooms with preserved Gothic vaulting, deserves close attention.

Bítov Castle

Bítov Castle is a castle located in the village of Bítov, about 25 km northwest of Znojmo, Czech Republic. It was built in the 11th century. Bítov is one of the oldest castles in our country. The castle was built at the time of the joining of the Moravian and the Czech lands. The first written references to the castle date back from 1061 - 1067. Until the turn of the 13th century, the castle belonged to the Lords and the castle was the centre of the administration of castles. In the region it also played an important part in the line of defence of the South Moravian borders.

Dinopark + Zoopark Vyškov

ZOO PARK Vyškov originated in 1965. It is directed to breeding of primitive and exotic species of domestic and farm animals. At present it is breeded there about 550 animals of 119 species or breeds.
 
 
DinoPark is a unique amusement park for general, depicting scenery from the life of Mesozoic animals as they likely populated our planet long time ago.
The models are placed in sets reminiscent of their natural habitat. The models are both static and animated, all of them with sound. Parts of the DinoPark are attractions supporting the educational purpose of the park, such as a 3D movie theater, children’s paleontological playground, educational path etc.

Brno

Brno is the second largest city in the Czech Republic, located in the southeast of the country. It was founded in 1243, although the area had been settled since the 5th century. As of December 2009 the population is 405,337. Brno is the capital of the South Moravian Region as well as the seat of the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic, the Supreme Court, the Supreme Administrative Court, the Supreme Prosecutor's Office and the Ombudsman. Swimming pool and aquapark Blansko

The city Blansko offers to its ihabitants and also to the tourists a wide range of water attractions. There is an indoor 25 meters long and 12,5 meters wide swimming pool which is during summer season connected with an outdoor swimmng pool - a part of the new aquapark. In the outdoor areal there is a 50 meters long and 25 meters wide swimming pool with four swimming lines, three diving towers, wild water with a swinging pool in the middle, a 55 meters long switch-back, a 14,5 meters long slide, massage beds, 4 water nozzles, 3 waterspouts and a water mushroom. Both the outdoor swimming pools are heated. In the other part of the areal there is a wide sand beach with a children playground and there are also two beach-volleyball courts. Around the swimming pool there are both concrete and grass relaxation areas.

Pernštejn Castle

Pernštejn Castle is a castle located on a rock above the village of Nedvědice and the rivers Svratka and Nedvědička, some 40 km northwest of Brno, in the Vysočina Region. Pernštejn came to be known as the marble castle because of the marble-like stone used to frame the doors and windows.
It was founded by the Lords of Medlov probably between 1270-1285. The family branch seated at the castle and adopted the then fashionable name Pernštejn, which is the Czech version probably derived of the German name, Bärenstein - the "Bear Rock". Its history is closly connected to the Lords of Pernštejn (Pernštejnové) and their descendants. It has kept its intact appearance in the Gothic and Renaissance form as it was finished in the first half of the 16th century by the Pernštejns, then the richest and most powerful lordly family of the Czech kingdom. Pernštejn is one of the most preserved castles in Czech Republic.

Pálava

Pálava Landscape Protected Area is a landscape protected area and UNESCO biosphere reserve (since 1986) in the Czech Republic, South Moravian Region, on the border with Austria.
Pálava lies in the northwest promontory of the Panonská lowlands. It is the warmest and almost the most arid area in the Czech Republic, and therefore vines are cultivated here. Because of this climate some plant species that do not occur anywhere else in the country grow here. The colourful mosaic of arid rock grass, fringe communities, thermophilous bushes and thermophilous oakwoods on the Děvín slopes, which originated partly due to the influence of grazing, is called karst forest steppe.

Brno Dam

Steamboat cruises, which plough the dam´s surface for more than a half of the century, are certainly among the most sought after activities in the Brno Dam area which is located very near to the town of Brno. Thanks to several stops, visitors can plan the length of their cruise and they can also visit the romantic medieval Veveří Castle, situated right above the dam.
